Raymond Gouker
Raymond Gouker – CEO/Founder Adams Community Television was founded in 1988 by Raymond Gouker, a teacher of Visual Communications at the Gettysburg High School. His interests were to create a medium for Adams County and surrounding communities by providing an opportunity to showcase their local talents, history, people, cultural and athletic events, landscaping and economy, as well as provide a focal point which will address issues and provide educational and entertaining programming that will be of interest to and benefit local residents. Raymond also is Executive Director of Operations and oversees the daily operations of Adams Community Television.

Ron HarrisRon Harris – Board President Ron Harris is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Information Technology and thirty-three years of college level teaching experience. As an adjunct professor, he has taught computer classes at Prince George’s Community College, Montgomery College, Howard Community College, and Harrisburg Area Community College in Gettysburg. He has given presentations and workshops throughout the United States and Canada on Project Management. He has directed two documentaries highlighting the histories of the boroughs of Carroll Valley and New Oxford. He is also a professional commercial photographer. He serves on numerous advisory and planning committees at the state, county and borough level.

Jim KrutJim Krut – Board Vice President Jim recently retired as vice president of communications with Adams Electric Cooperative, where he had responsiblity for the 30,000-member cooperative’s public and member relations, videos, radio and television advertising, legislative relations and strategic communications planning. A film and theatre actor, he has appeared in several films, most notably George Romero’s “Dawn of the Dead,” as well as many Gettysburg Stage productions. He has served on the board of Gettysburg Stage, the Gettysburg Adams Chamber of Commerce, was president of the Adams County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board and is a member of the advisory committee for the Adams County Arts Council. A graduate of Point Park University, with a degree in Journalism and Communications, he has been a reporter on daily newspaper and worked as editor on a weekly newspaper in Huntingdon County. For seven years, he edited the statewide magazine of the Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association, with circulation of 220,000. A Vietnam War veteran, Jim served as a medic and personnel specialist, earning a bronze star for valor and a Purple Heart. He currently works in film and theatre, and makes film convention appearances as a guest celebrity in the United States and Europe. www.helizombie.com

Wendy MillerWendy Miller – Board Secretary Wendy is a Business/Computer teacher and Cooperative Education Coordinator at Gettysburg High School. She has been teaching and coordinating student work-study and internship programs for eight years. Her passion is placing senior students into internships in professional organizations and businesses in conjunction with their career objectives. Internships validate for students the careers they are interested in pursuing. She became involved with ACTV after placing a student from the Media Productions class at Gettysburg High School into an internship at the studio. She would like to use television as a medium to promote the internship program so other schools in the area can also become involved in student internships at ACTV and beyond. Prior to joining Gettysburg High School, Wendy spent most of her career as a Senior Communications Training Specialist with Highmark Blue Shield and Capital Blue Cross. She also taught in the Business Department at Harrisburg Area Community College before joining Highmark.

Tom LandisTom Landis – Board Treasurer Tom Landis started his career in various sales positions ultimately gaining over 25 years of experience in the business arena. He became Director of Marketing and Product Manager for several regional food companies. During the 1990′s Tom made a career change by founding his own video production company. The mainstay of his business is currently corporate production, but Tom has shot segments for “The Travel Channel” and “Americas Most Wanted”. Beginning in 1994, Tom has also shot approximately 400 interviews for “The Survivors Of The Shoah Visual History Foundation”, which were forwarded to Steven Spielberg, for his collection of holocaust survivor stories. Tom and his associate have also opened Cartridge World in Hanover, Pa., while he continues his passion for video productions through his company, Harbor Productions.

Ron ShultzRon Shultz – Board Member Ron Shultz is a retired Brigadier General with over 32 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and Pennsylvania Air National Guard. His military assignments included Instructor Pilot, Command Post Commander, Army War College Professor, Wing Commander, and State Director of Operations for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medals, Aerial Achievement Medals, and the Meritorious Service Medal. His last operational assignment was Wing Commander in the Afghan Theater in 2002. In addition to serving as President for ACTV, Mr. Shultz has served on the Board of Directors for the National Guard Association of the United States and the Pennsylvania National Guard Association. He holds a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in business and graduated from both the Army and the Air War College. He and his wife, Zea, reside in Cashtown, Pa and enjoy family activities with their kids and grand kids.

Carol NewhartCarol Newhart – Board Member / Director of Fundraising Carol has a long career in the Railroad Industry beginning with CSX Transportation in 1970. She left CSX in 1989 and in 1991 began working in private industry as Corporate Director of Transportation for a London based company located at Annville, Pennsylvania coordinating rail operations, contract negotiations, and fleet management. In 1999 she formed her own Rail based transportation consulting company that she continues to operate along with restoring a working 65 acre historic Civil War farm with Bed and Breakfast facilities, and Antique Store. During 2001-2006 she worked on the Mt. Joy Township Comprehensive Planning Committee, served as a member of the Board of Planning Commissioners and was a founding member of the Agricultural Land Preservation Committee.

Steve MaitlandSteve Maitland – Board Solicitor Steve Maitland is a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives of the 91st District. Steve earned his degree in political science from Mount St. Mary’s University in 1991. Steve attended M.A. classes in the Science, Technology and Public Policy program at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. Steve is an attorney in Adams County Pennsylvania.

Mark Wherley – Station Manager Before joining ACTV Mark served four year in the United States Marine Corps. Serving with 2nd Battalion 8th Marines 2nd Marine Division and a short time with II Marine Expeditionary Force. During his service Mark was awarded two Meritorious Masses in addition to several metals. After the service Mark went on to study Film and Video production at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Mark also studied photography with the New York Institute of Photography, is a CompTIA A+ Certified Computer Technician, and holds a FCC license in armature radio. Mark has also worked with several film and commercial production companies in Philadelphia, New York and Pittsburgh .
